  • BaySwim.com. GCBS Race Director's web site. 
  • Lin-Mark Computer Sports manages all aspects of the entry process, timing, and results of the GCBS.
• Masters Swim Organizations
  • Terrapin Masters. This University of Maryland based Masters team participates in the GCBS and keeps an information-rich website (Terrapin GCBS info page).
  • Potomac Valley Masters. Description of GCBS 2000; includes some pictures of swimmers.
• The Chesapeake Bay Bridges - Know your course!
  • Roads to the Future. Scott M. Kozel provides many good photos and facts, some during his 1987 Bay Bridge Walk.
  • Maryland Transportation Authority provides current information about Bridge conditons and projects.
  • Fact Sheet for Kids and the rest of us who don't like to read (pictures too) by the Maryland Secretary of State.
• Volunteers' Viewpoints
  • Chesapeake Paddlers Association.  It's a much safer event because of these folks.  If anyone hassles you about wearing a wetsuit, have them read the account of GCBS 1998 by Mike Vandamm and Jenny Plummer.

• Other Open Water Swims
  • Tampa Bay Marathon  Held each year on Earth Day (April 21st) to celebrate the revitalization of Florida's largest estuary (24 mile swim).
  • Manhattan Island Foundation.  Sponsors of the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim (28.5 miles), Great Hudson River Swim (2.8 miles), Little Red Lighthouse Swim (7.8 miles) and the Race for the River (2.4 miles). Collection of articles related to open water swimming, training tips, and information on braving the English Channel.
